RESUMO

Refrigeration technology based on the caloric effect is one of the more environmentally friendly alternatives to gas compression refrigeration. The barocaloric effect utilizes pressure to induce phase transition and results in a large entropy change. In this work, a colossal barocaloric effect in the liquid-solid transition (L-S-T) of binary fatty acid methyl esters (BFAMEs) was discovered. At 295 K, an isothermal entropy change as high as 591 J kg-1 K-1 and a reversible entropy change of 356 J kg-1 K-1 at a hydrostatic pressure of 80 MPa were obtained by mixing methyl palmitate and methyl stearate with a specific ratio to synthesize a BFAME. The value of the isothermal entropy change of the BFAME is comparable to that of a commercial gas compression refrigerant, R134a. This work will provide a new L-S-T candidate material to replace commercial refrigerants for the potential application of caloric effect refrigeration technology.

RESUMO

Alisol B 23-acetate (AB23A) has been demonstrated to have beneficial effects on nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, the mechanisms of AB23A on NASH remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms underlying the metabolic regulatory effects of AB23A on NASH. We used AB23A to treat mice with NASH, which was induced by a methionine and choline deficient (MCD) diet. We initially investigated therapeutic effect and resistance to oxidation and inflammation of AB23A on NASH. Subsequently, we performed untargeted metabolomic analyses and relative validation assessments to evaluate the metabolic regulatory effects of AB23A. AB23A reduced lipid accumulation, ameliorated oxidative stress and decreased pro-inflammatory cytokines in the liver. Untargeted metabolomic analysis found that AB23A altered the metabolites of liver. A total of 55 differential metabolites and three common changed pathways were screened among the control, model and AB23A treatment groups. Further tests validated the effects of AB23A on modulating common changed pathway-involved factors. AB23A treatment can ameliorate NASH by inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammation. The mechanism of AB23A on NASH may be related to the regulation of alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism, d-glutamine and d-glutamate metabolism, and arginine biosynthesis pathways.

RESUMO

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an inflammatory disease caused by autoantibodies, with high morbidity and mortality. It involves multiple systems, particularly the renal, which can lead to lupus nephritis (LN); its multi-system effects have a significant impact on the physical and mental health of patients. Exosomes are vesicles that are secreted during cell activity and carry a variety of nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids. They are distributed through body fluids for cellular communication. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are nucleic acids that are packaged within the exosome that are taken up and released in response to changes in plasma membrane structure. MiRNAs are potential participants in immune and inflammatory responses, which are transported to target cells and can inhibit gene expression in receptor cells. It has been suggested that exosomal miRNA can regulate the pathogenesis of SLE and, as such, they are of value in diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, we focus on the research progress into exosomal miRNA in SLE and inspire new directions for SLE related research.

RESUMO

Cytolytic (Cyt)-like genes are present in both pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Bacterial Cyt proteins can destroy insect midgut epithelial cells after ingestion by hosts and some of them have been developed as biopesticides; however, few studies have investigated their functions in fungal pathogens. This study investigated the effects of a Cyt-like protein (CytCo) derived from Conidiobolus obscurus (Entomophthoromycotina) on the hemocytes of the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella larvae. The results showed a significant decline in hemocyte viability after treatment with CytCo in vivo or in vitro. The hemocyte density in the hemolymph was reduced by 65.2% and 50.2% after 12 h in vivo and 6 h in vitro treatments, respectively. Apoptosis/necrosis tests using fluorescence microscopy demonstrated that CytCo-treated hemocytes displayed apoptosis, and many of them also showed necrosis after 6 h in vitro treatment. Based on transcriptome analysis, several genes involved in the programmed cell death signaling pathway were upregulated in the CytCo-treated hemocytes. Meanwhile, the differentially expressed genes related to energy production, signal transduction, transcription regulation, and melanization were upregulated, demonstrating activated immune responses; those putatively related to hemocyte adhesion were downregulated, possibly in response to the reduction of hemocytes in hemolymph. In conclusion, CytCo as a virulence factor, could irreversibly incapacitate host hemocytes, playing an important role in debilitating insect immunity. This novel insecticidal protein holds a potential to develop biopesticide for controlling agroforestry pests.

RESUMO

Searching for a more compact network width recently serves as an effective way of channel pruning for the deployment of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) under hardware constraints. To fulfil the searching, a one-shot supernet is usually leveraged to efficiently evaluate the performance w.r.t. different network widths. However, current methods mainly follow a unilaterally augmented (UA) principle for the evaluation of each width, which induces the training unfairness of channels in supernet. In this article, we introduce a new supernet called Bilaterally Coupled Network (BCNet) to address this issue. In BCNet, each channel is fairly trained and responsible for the same amount of network widths, thus each network width can be evaluated more accurately. Besides, we propose to reduce the redundant search space and present the BCNetV2 as the enhanced supernet to ensure rigorous training fairness over channels. Furthermore, we leverage a stochastic complementary strategy for training the BCNet, and propose a prior initial population sampling method to boost the performance of the evolutionary search. We also propose a new open-source width search benchmark on macro structures named Channel-Bench-Macro for the better comparisons of the width search algorithms with MobileNet- and ResNet-like architectures. Extensive experiments on the benchmark datasets demonstrate that our method can achieve state-of-the-art performance.

RESUMO

Insect herbivory in the forest canopy leads to a large amount of damaged leaves and frass input to soil, with consequence on soil carbon cycle. However, the influence of damaged leaves and frass from insect canopy herbivory on the soil priming effect is unclear. We examined the effects of leaf litter, leaf damage caused by Dendrolimus punctatus, and insect frass on soil priming effect by using the 13C natural abundance technique. The results showed that the addition of leaf litter, damaged leaves, and frass significantly increased native soil organic carbon mineralization, producing a positive priming effect. Moreover, significant differences were observed among treatments. The accumulative priming effect induced by frass was the largest, followed by damaged leaves, and that of leaf litter was the smallest. The priming effect was positively correlated with total P, condensed tannin, total phenolic content, and the ratio of condensed tannin to P (condensed tannin/P), and negatively correlated with C/N, lignin/N, C/P, and lignin/P in the early stage of incubation. There was a significant negative correlation between the priming effect and lignin content in the later stage of incubation. Our results indicated that damaged leaves and frass increased the magnitude of positive priming effect, which was influenced by different factors at different incubation stages. Our results would strengthen the understanding in the effects of insect herbivory on soil carbon cycling in forests, and improve the accuracy of the assessment of its effects on forest carbon sink.

RESUMO

Graphilbum species are important blue stain fungi associated with pine trees and are widely distributed throughout Asia, Australia, and North Africa. Pine wood nematode (PWN) primarily feed on ophiostomatoid fungi such as Graphilbum sp. in wood, the population of PWNs was increased, and incomplete organelle structures were observed in Graphilbum sp. hyphal cells following exposure to PWNs. In this study, we showed that Rho and Ras were involved in the MAPK pathway, SNARE binding and small GTPase-mediated signal transduction, and their expression was upregulated in the treatment group. However, the expression of the Rab7 involved in MAPK and small GTPase-mediated signal pathway was downregulated in the treatment group. Thus, further research is needed to study the MAPK pathway and related Ras and Rho genes in Graphilbum sp. associated with the PWN population. Overall, transcriptomic analysis clarified the basic mechanisms of mycelial growth in Graphilbum sp. fungus used as a food source by PWNs.

RESUMO

Sinoseneciominshanicus (Asteraceae, Senecioneae), a new species from south-eastern Gansu (Wenxian and Zhugqu counties) and northern Sichuan (Pingwu county), China, is described and illustrated. This species is similar to S.rotundifolius, a species locally endemic to Songpan county in northern Sichuan, in having a scapigerous habit, orbicular leaves and solitary capitula, but differs by the presence (vs. absence) of stolons and by having thinner rhizomes (ca. 2 mm vs. more than 5 mm in diameter), stems proximally sparsely fulvous arachnoid or glabrescent (vs. densely sericeous-villous) and obscure (vs. conspicuous) main veins on adaxial surface of leaves. The chromosome number of the new species is reported to be 2n = 60. Colour photographs of living plants in the wild and a distribution map are provided for the new species and S.rotundifolius. The geographical distribution of S.rotundifolius is also corrected, with the previous record of this species from south-eastern Gansu (Wenxian county) actually referring to S.minshanicus.

RESUMO

Central post-stroke pain (CPSP) is a highly refractory form of central neuropathic pain that has been poorly studied mechanistically. Recent observations have emphasized the critical role of the spinal dorsal horn in CPSP. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, rats were subjected to thalamic hemorrhage to investigate the role of spinal monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and C-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) in the development of CPSP. Immunohistochemical staining and ELISA were used to assess the expression changes of c-Fos, Iba-1, GFAP, MCP-1, and CCR2 in the dorsal horn of the lumbar spinal cord following thalamic hemorrhage, and the involvement of spinal MCP-1 in CPSP was examined by performing intrathecal anti-MCP-1 mAb injection to neutralize the spinal extracellular MCP-1. We demonstrated that intra-thalamic collagenase microinjection induced persistent bilateral mechanical pain hypersensitivity and facilitated the spontaneous pain behaviors evoked by intraplantar bee venom injection. Accompanying CPSP, the expression of c-Fos, Iba-1, and GFAP in the lumbar spinal dorsal horn was significantly increased up to 28 days post-intra-thalamic collagenase microinjection. Intrathecal injection of minocycline and fluorocitrate dramatically reverses the bilateral mechanical pain hypersensitivity. Moreover, intra-thalamic collagenase microinjection dramatically induced the up-regulation of MCP-1 but had no effect on the expression of CCR2 in the bilateral lumbar spinal dorsal horn, and MCP-1 was primarily localized in the neuron. Intrathecal injection of anti-MCP-1 mAb was also able to reverse CPSP and reduce the expression of c-Fos, Iba-1, and GFAP in the lumbar spinal dorsal horn. These findings indicated that spinal MCP-1 contributes to CPSP by mediating the activation of spinal neurons and glial cells following thalamic hemorrhage stroke, which may provide insights into pharmacologic treatment for CPSP.

RESUMO

Due to the increasing use of local anesthetic techniques in various healthcare settings, local anesthetic toxicity still occurs. Seizures are the most common symptom of local anesthetic toxicity. The relationship between local anesthetic-induced seizures and the sensation of pain has not been established till now. Here, we assessed the development of pain hypersensitivity after ropivacaine-induced seizures (RIS) and the influence of RIS on incision-induced postsurgical pain and formalin-induced acute inflammatory pain. In addition, the involvement of spinal 5-HT/5-HT3R in RIS-induced pain sensitization was investigated. According to a sequential exploratory experimental strategy, we first calculated the 50% seizure dosage of ropivacaine to be 42.66 mg/kg (95% confidence interval: 40.19-45.28 mg/kg). We showed that RIS induced significant bilateral mechanical pain hypersensitivity that lasted around 5 days, accompanied by an increase in spinal 5-HT. Moreover, RIS considerably protracted postsurgical pain and enhanced formalin-induced spontaneous flinching in the second phase. Depletion of spinal 5-HT with intrathecal injection of 5,7-dihydroxytryptamine (5,7-DHT) reduced RIS-induced pain hypersensitivity and prevented the prolonging of postsurgical pain following RIS. Likewise, blocking spinal 5-HT3R by intrathecal administration of ondansetron reversed RIS-induced pain hypersensitivity and attenuated the pronociception of RIS in the formalin test. Our findings revealed that acute RIS led to pain hypersensitivity and had pronociceptive effects on incision-induced postsurgical pain and formalin-induced acute inflammatory pain. Moreover, our data implied that RIS-induced pain sensitization depends on spinal 5-HT/5-HT3R signaling. Thus, targeting the descending serotonergic facilitation system should be an important element of the precise treatment for local anesthetic toxicity.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hypertension (HTN) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are often coincident, and each condition is considered a risk factor for the other. Both occur frequently in the Inner Mongolia region of China. The reasons for differences in risk between Han and Mongolian ethnic groups are not known. The LEPR gene and its polymorphism, rs1137101 (Gln223Arg), are both considered risk factors for HTN and T2DM, but any role of rs1137101 in the occurrence of HTN + T2DM remains unclear for Mongolian and Han populations in the Inner Mongolia region. AIM: To investigate the relationship between rs1137101 and the occurrence of HTN with T2DM in Mongolian and Han populations in Inner Mongolia. METHODS: A total of 2652 subjects of Han and Mongolian ethnic origins were enrolled in the current study, including 908 healthy controls, 1061 HTN patients and 683 HTN patients with T2DM. RESULTS: The association between the rs1137101 polymorphism and HTN with T2DM was analyzed, and differences between Han and Mongolian individuals assessed. There was a significant correlation between rs1137101 and HTN (co-dominant, dominant, over-dominant and log-additive models) and HTN + T2DM (co-dominant, dominant, over-dominant and log-additive models) after adjustment for sex and age in individuals of Mongolian origin. rs1137101 was significantly associated with HTN (co-dominant, recessive and log-additive models) and HTN + T2DM (co-dominant, dominant, over-dominant and log-additive models) in the Han Chinese population. CONCLUSION: Mongolian and Han subjects from Inner Mongolia with HTN who had rs1137101 were protected against the development of T2DM. Allele A has the opposite impact on the occurrence of HTN in Mongolian and Han Chinese populations.

RESUMO

Plastic debris in the global biosphere is an increasing concern, and nanoplastic (NPs) toxicity in humans is far from being understood. Studies have indicated that NPs can affect mitochondria, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. The liver and lungs have important metabolic functions and are vulnerable to NP exposure. In this study, we investigated the effects of 80 nm NPs on mitochondrial functions and metabolic pathways in normal human hepatic (L02) cells and lung (BEAS-2B) cells. NP exposure did not induce mass cell death; however, transmission electron microscopy analysis showed that the NPs could enter the cells and cause mitochondrial damage, as evidenced by overproduction of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species, alterations in the mitochondrial membrane potential, and suppression of mitochondrial respiration. These alterations were observed at NP concentrations as low as 0.0125 mg/mL, which might be comparable to the environmental levels. Nontarget metabolomics confirmed that the most significantly impacted processes were mitochondrial-related. The metabolic function of L02 cells was more vulnerable to NP exposure than that of BEAS-2B cells, especially at low NP concentrations. This study identifies NP-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic toxicity pathways in target human cells, providing insight into the possibility of adverse outcomes in human health.

RESUMO

CONTEXT: Thyroid hormones are associated with birth weight in singleton pregnancy. Twin pregnancies need more thyroid hormones to maintain the normal growth and development of the fetuses compared with single pregnancy. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to investigate the association of thyroid hormones and birth weight in twins. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study in a Chinese population. Pregnant women who received regular antenatal health care and delivered live-born twins from 2014 to 2019 were included (n = 1626). Linear mixed model with restricted cubic splines and logistic regression models were used to estimate the association of thyroid hormones with birth weight and birth weight discordance in twins. RESULTS: We observed that both thyrotropin (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4) were not associated with birth weight in twins overall, while when stratifying on fetal sex or chorionicity, there were nonlinear association between FT4 levels and birth weight in boys (Pnonlinear < .001) and in dichorionic (DC) twins (Pnonlinear = 0.03). Women with levels of FT4 lower than the 10th percentile had a higher risk of birth weight discordance in their offspring than women with normal FT4 levels (range, 2.5 to 97.5 percentiles) (odds ratio = 1.58; 95% CI, 1.05-2.33). CONCLUSION: Our study suggests there was an association of FT4, but not TSH, with birth weight and birth weight discordance varied by sex and chorionicity. These findings could have implications for obstetricians to be aware of the importance of FT4 levels in preventing birth weight discordance in twin pregnancy.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare the curative effect of panlong needling at Jiaji (EX-B 2) combined with western medication and western medication alone on motor dysfunction in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) of liver and kidney deficiency. METHODS: A total of 98 patients with PD were randomly divided into an acupuncture and medication group (49 cases, 1 case dropped off) and a western medication group (49 cases,1 case was removed). The patients in the western medication group were given oral of levodopa and benserazide hydrochloride tablets, 125 mg each time, three times a day in the 1st week, and the dose was increased according to the needs of the patients' condition from the 2nd week until 250 mg each time, three times a day, for 16 consecutive weeks. On the basis of the same western medication treatment as the western medication group, panlong needling was applied at Jiaji (EX-B 2) from C2 to L5 in the acupuncture and medication group, once a day, 20 times as a course of treatment, for 4 consecutive courses. The scores of unified Parkinson's disease rating scale (UPDRS-Ⅲ, UPDRS-Ⅳ), TCM symptoms score, and 39-item Parkinson's disease questionnaire (PDQ-39) score were evaluated before treatment, after treatment and during follow-up of 1 month after treatment, respectively. The safety of the two groups was compared. RESULTS: After treatment and during follow-up, except the PDQ-39 score of the western medication group, the scores of UPDRS-Ⅲ, UPDRS-Ⅳ, TCM syndrome and PDQ-39 were lower than those before treatment in the two groups (P<0.05), and the scores of above indexes in the acupuncture and medication group were lower than those of the western medication group (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the acupuncture and medication group was 10.4% (5/48), which was lower than 29.2% (14/48) in the western medication group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Panlong needling at Jiaji (EX-B 2) combined with western medication could significantly improve the motor dysfunction and clinical symptoms, improve the quality of life and has high safety, and the efficacy is superior to western medication alone.

RESUMO

Taxus media Rehder is a high-value tree species and can be used for landscape afforestation and medicinal purposes considering its beautiful shape and secondary metabolite paclitaxel. In May 2019, branch blight of T. media was observed in plantations in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China. The lesions were brown, necrotic and sunken, and the branches were withering. Plants from five plantations were surveyed, and the disease incidence was 60%. Necrotic tissues from 5 plans from each plantation were cut into small pieces (5×5 mm), surface disinfected with 75% alcohol for 30 s and 2% sodium hypochlorite solution for 2-3 min, washed twice with sterile water, then dried on sterile filter paper. Branch pieces were aseptically transferred to potato dextrose agar (PDA) plates and incubated at 25℃ in the dark for 3 days. Five purified fungal cultures were obtained and the representative isolate (LA-01) that grew slightly more vigorously under the same condition was selected for morphological characterization and DNA sequence comparison. The colony was initially white and cottony, with circular growth, undulated edge, wavy surface and pale beige on the back. The conidia were long spindle-shaped, straight or slightly curved, 21-27 × 6-8 µm (n=50) in overall shape. They contained 5 cells with those at the apex and base hyaline. The second and third cells from the apex were darker (brown) than the fourth cell from the apex (pale brown). Two or three (most frequently observed) hyaline appendages were apparent at the apex, 16-31 µm in length. Morphological characteristics of the obtained isolate were consistent with those in the genus of Neopestalotiopsis (Solart et al. 2018). DNA of LA-01 was extracted from fresh mycelia using Minibest Universal Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Takara, Toyoto, Japan) according to the manufacturer's instructions. The partial regions from the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), ß-tubulin gene (TUB2), and translation elongation factor subunit 1-a gene (TEF1) were amplified and sequenced using universal primer pairs ITS5/ITS4, BT2A/BT2B, and EF1-526F/EF1-1567R (Maharachchikumbura et al. 2012), respectively. The resulting nucleotide sequences were individually subjected to BLAST searches in GenBank. The nucleotide sequences of ITS (MZ148633, 554 bp), TUB2 (MZ286974, 473 bp ), TEF1 (MZ286975, 1030 bp) of the isolate LA-01 showed 99.64% similarity to ITS sequence (MW512858.1), 99.35% similarity to TUB2 sequence (MH423961.1), 98.18% similarity to TEF1 sequence (KU096881.1). The multi-locus phylogenetic tree was constructed based on the combined ITS-TUB2-TEF1 sequences using MEGA 7 using the neighbor-joining method, indicating that LA-01 represents Neopestalotiopsis clavispora. Inoculation was done on branches of ten T. media plants in the field to verify the pathogenicity of LA-01. Two healthy branches of each plant were surface sterilized with 75% ethanol allowed to dry, and two small wounds on each branch were obtained by puncturing with a sterilized needle. One wound was inoculated with 5-mm-diameter PDA discs excised from 7-day-old cultures, and wrapped with parafilm; the other inoculated with sterile PDA plugs as control, and wrapped with parafilm. Disease symptoms developed on all N. clavispora-inoculated wounds 3 days after inoculation. The yellow brown lesions became apparent 20 days later, whereas the control wounds remained asymptomatic. The fungus N. clavispora was reisolated from the diseased lesions using the same methods above, fulfilling Koch's postulates. Previously, the species was reported to cause leaf spot disease on another Taxus tree species T. chinensis in China (Wang et al. 2019). This is the first report of T. media branch blight caused by N. clavispora worldwide. Special attention should be paid to the damage it may cause to T. media producers, and precautionary monitoring on T. media population will be a significant part of the conservation efforts in China.

RESUMO

Closed reduction and internal fixation with three cannulated compression screws is a common method for treating femoral neck fractures in young and middle-aged patients. Protocols including the inverted triangle configuration and dispersion of the screws still needed further supports. The purpose of this study was to explore a novel oblique triangle configuration (OTC) of three screws in fixing femoral neck fractures based on the morphology of the femoral neck isthmus (FNI). The computer-aided design modules were used to explore the ideal spatial configuration with largest triangle by three parallel screws. A univariate evaluation model was established based on the oval-like cross-section of the FNI. When the three screws were positioned by the OTC, Inverted Equilateral Triangle Configuration (IETC), and the Maximum Area Inverted Isosceles Triangle Configuration (MA-IITC) respectively, the proportion of area and circumference in the cross-section of FNI and the changing trend of proportion were compared under various torsion angles, eccentricity, and cross-sectional area of FNI. The area and circumference ratios of the parallel screws using the OTC method were significantly higher than in the IETC and MA-IITC groups. In the univariate evaluation model, the OTC area ratio and circumference ratio remained stable under the different femoral neck torsion angles, FNI cross-sectional area, and eccentricity. The OTC method provided an ideal spatial configuration for the FNA fixation with the largest area using three parallel screws. The position of the posterior screw was also away from the metaphyseal artery, potentially reducing the possibility of vascular injury and screw penetrating.

RESUMO

Schwann cells have been found to promote osteogenesis by an unclear molecular mechanism. To better understand how Schwann cells accelerate osteogenesis, RNA-Seq and LC-MS/MS were utilized to explore the transcriptomic and metabolic response of MC3T3-E1 to Schwann cells. Osteogenic differentiation was determined by ALP staining. Lentiviruses were constructed to alter the expression of Mif (macrophage migration inhibitory factor) in Schwann cells. Western blot (WB) analysis was employed to detect the protein expression. The results of this study show that Mif is essential for Schwann cells to promote osteogenesis, and its downstream CD74/FOXO1 is also involved in the promotion of Schwann cells on osteogenesis. Further, Schwann cells regulate amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism in preosteoblasts. These findings unveil the mechanism for Schwann cells to promote osteogenesis where Mif is a key factor.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The cross-sectional area of three parallel screws might affect the stability of the internal fixation of femoral neck fractures. The screws fixed in the oblique-triangle configuration (OTC) were assumed to have a larger cross-sectional area, but the biomechanical stability has not yet been validated. In this study, finite element analyses were performed to compare the biomechanical properties of the internal fixation fixed by the OTC and the traditional Inverted Equilateral Triangle Configuration (IETC). METHOD: Pauwels type III fracture was established on the three-dimensional femoral model and three cannulated screws with the OTC and traditional IETC methods were applied. The oblique-triangle configuration with the largest area inscribed the femoral neck isthmus by the three screws was determined, the area and circumference of the cross-section formed by the OTC and IETC model were compared. Stress, strain, and displacement peaks of the two configuration models under different loads were compared. Twelve pairs of nodes on the fracture ends were selected and the displacement of the fracture ends was evaluated through the displacement between these nodes. RESULTS: The area and circumference of the cross-section formed by the OTC were larger than those in the IETC model. The degree of stress dispersion around the screw holes in the OTC model was better than that of the IETC, but the stress distribution order of the three screws in the two models was consistent. The maximum stress, strain, displacement, and displacement of the fracture end in the OTC model were smaller than those in the IETC model. The stress, strain, displacement, and fracture end displacement peaks of the two fixed models gradually increase with the increase of loads. CONCLUSION: The oblique-triangle configuration showed superior mechanical properties than the IETC in finite element analyses. This study suggests that when three screws are fixed in parallel method, the larger the cross-sectional area of the screw configuration, the better stability of the internal fixation might be obtained. Furthermore, the biomechanical properties of various spatial configurations and screw holes of the three parallel screws need to be considered before clinical practice.
